Discoverer Extended Session
joins the Discoverer and Explorer Sessions of the summer for campers
who don’t want to leave! Campers will participate in each session
as normal during the week. However, the Wilderness
Weekend in between is an adventure like no other…
Just after Parent Fireside, campers
will gather with their Wilderness Weekend companions and take only what
they can carry to the weekend site where 2 treehouses in the middle
of the woods await them…
During the weekend campers will
have opportunity to relax after an exciting week of camp and at the
same time gear up for another week of adventure.
Campers spend time learning wilderness
skills including:
- carving silverware,
- trail blazing
- purifying water
- starting a fire without
a match
- cooking over a fire
- orienteering
Campers also participate in activities
to develop community amongst each other including:
- teambuilding challenges
- Firesides
- Hikes
- Free time to relax
together
On Sunday afternoon wilderness
weekend campers return to camp for a brief pond time, showers and then
will join a shelter for their 2nd week of camp!
